Target is a core material that ensures conductivity and transparency by coating a flat panel display, such as LCD, plasma, plasma display panels (PDP), organic EL (OLED), and solar panels. Samsung Corning Precision Materials established a strategic partnership with Sumitomo Metal Mining in 2000 and began production in 2001. Korean flat panel display manufacturers, at the time, depended on the Japanese and other foreign Target manufacturers, but since Samsung Corning Precision Materials began manufacturing Target, they were able to use local products and cut down the logistics costs.

In 2002 we developed our own high-purity nano-sized ITO powder and are now working on the next generation of transparent electrode to follow the ITO. The Target produced by Samsung Corning Precision Materials is currently supplied to Korean and overseas manufacturers of TFT-LCD, AM OLED and PDP, including Samsung Electronics. We obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 certificates, based on our 20 years of experience in the ceramic business, to position ourselves as the world’ best Target manufacturer.
