Samsung Corning Precision Materials, with its high-tech products and technologies, is creating a future as a global company specializing in inorganic materials.
As a joint venture of Samsung and Corning in the US, Samsung Corning Precision Materials constructed its Asan plant in 2003.
Since then, it has been expanding continuously to have the world's largest plate glass production system.
Samsung Corning Precision Materials produces glass substrates, the key material for state-of-the-art TFT-LCD. The TFT-LCD glass substrate a widely used not only in LCD TVs and monitors but also in mobile devices such as smartphone, tablet, and laptop. It helps create a more convenient, enriched life.
Since it was merged with Samsung Corning in December 2007, Samsung Corning Precision Materials has cemented its business competitiveness as flat panel display part and material specialist. Furthermore, it changed its name from Samsung Corning Precision Glass to Samsung Corning Precision Materials on May 15, 2010, its 15th anniversary, to convey its intention to grow as an inorganic material specialist.
